Pat Paulsen Vineyards

Cabernet Sauvignon ~ Wirth Ranch Reserve

Sold out.

With classic Cab intensity and a rich depth of character this reserve is surprisingly fresh for its deep full body. Superb black cherry and spice marked by subtle wisps of floral fruits and herbal undertones this Cab is made to savor.

"Made from Grapes in Solano County, this wine has a solid structure, with ripe berry flavors and mouth-filling tannins."  The San Jose Mercury News

A Little About the Wirth Ranch:

Wirth Ranch grapes have been part of the California wine heritage for decades. The Vineyards were established in 1948 and has become known for the fine red wines produced out of the estate's vineyards. It has supplied grapes to many wineries over the years, including Christian Brothers, Sutter Home and more recently to more elite wineries including  Sunset, Urbano, Galvan, Olibisi Per Sempre, Green&Red, Ritual and Panoche. Of these wineries some have produced Medal worthy wines including "Gold."

Wirth Ranch is located on the western edge of Solano Co. in Green Valley only a few miles over the Napa County line.

Winemaker Notes:
"Green Valley sits just to the east of Napa's Carneros region, which means that it develops full floral aromas influenced by its proximity to San Francisco Bay and the cool night air that emanates from there. But unlike Carneros, Green Valley is protected from chilling breezes during the day, which allows warmer growing season, similar to Napa's Rutherford region or the Alexander Valley where I grew up. The result is a wine that bursts with aromas and impresses with depth, and which was aged a full 4 years in barrels, giving it a suppleness equal to its intensity." - Monty Paulsen
